Another stadium, really?

First came Target Field. Then came the new Vikings stadium. Now there is one being planned for soccer?

What happened to multipurpose venues? The Metrodome was used for different sports. The Xcel Center can handle both sports and concerts. The Target Center is able to do the same.

As a Minneapolis resident, I find it frustrating that my tax dollars are going toward something that we really don’t need. Minneapolis is already going to experience a raise in sales tax because of the Vikings stadium.

How about we put the money into education, parks, road repairs, etc? We will still get revenue from using another stadium. There is no point in spending money and destroying neighborhoods just so each team has their own place to play.

If Minneapolis wants to continue to go green, we should be using current spaces instead of wasting them.
