Appreciation for Jim Walsh’s insights

Each time the Southwest Journal appears, I look for Jim Walsh’s column.  His 9/24/15 “My Minneapolis” opened with this RU  OK?  Jim’s focus was Suicide Awareness Prevention Day.

He offered facts, a magnificent quote from T.H. White: “The best thing about being sad, replied Merlin, is to learn something. That’s the one thing that never fails.”

Compassion is something Jim learned for himself and  offers to others.  He told us of his own struggles and those of people close to him, whose lives have become shards because of the suicide of a loved one.  Jim ended by noting, “I’ve thought a lot…about the gift of appreciation and seeing things anew that other people who leave us provide us with.

I am appreciative of Jim’s wisdom.
